U.S. NAVY RETIRED CHIEF MASTER-AT-ARMS

Hello, Clay County, I am Catherine Webb a Candidate for sheriff in our great county.  I served 24 Years in the United States Navy. Served as Antiterrorism Force Protection Officer Commander Navy Region Southeast.  Chief of Police Atsugi Japan with a combined force of 300 officers.  Served as Watch Commander Guantanamo Bay Cuba 3 years. Certified in investigations and Crime scene investigator.  Certified Law Enforcement Officer and Detention Officer State of Florida and currently employed by Nassau County Sheriffs Office.  Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and currently enrolled in Master’s program in Criminal Justice with Columbia College.

I was born and raised in Central California by 2 wonderful parents.  My father was a Pastor and my mother, a school teacher.  I have 7 brothers and sisters. We were raised in a bilingual home where we spoke Spanish to many of our older relatives and we learned the language. I joined the Navy in 1989 and traveled the world.  I was part of the Medical Corps and served 2 tours with the Marines, 1 tour in Somalia.   I served on 2 Navy ships and overseas and spent 13 years in Japan where I learned  to speak Japanese.  I feel it is important to look at all aspects of the county and take care of you, the customer(residents) and the internal customer ( the Officers who serve you)  I will bring a different style of leadership to the agency and with your support I look forward to serving you.  I am a Clay County resident, so our budget is extremely important to me, it is our tax dollars and I will ensure the Sheriff's office a responsible partner with you and the use of our tax dollars.  I live in Middleburg with my husband Jack.

The race currently has only Republican Candidates so this race may be called on 18 August 2020. Make your  vote count!  If a Democrat joins the race then the highest running Republican will run against the Democrat candidate in the general election. At this time, the race will be called in the primary. Vote a Military Retired Navy Chief your next Sheriff!

Catherine Webb intends to build a strong relationship and work closely with all members of the community. Her personal goal for the community and sheriff's office is to build a positive  relationships with one another.  The positive interactions will help them gain respect for each other and allow a much stronger community through interactions with local agencies and members of the public, creating partnerships and strategies for reducing crime and disorder.

There has never been a Retired Female Military Veteran run for Sheriff of Clay County. In the history of Florida there have only been two elected female Sheriff's in the State.
